BAYSIDE
PROGRAM FOR MEMBERS
Bayside
swimming club believes swimming is more than just swimming and
competing in the pool.
Our club activities include:
-
Fortnightly club
swimming see calendar on notice board. Thursday’s summer,
Saturday’s winter.
-
School holiday
activities.
Open water swimming and paddling at various Eastern Suburbs
beach’s, BBQ’s, surfing. These activities are usually suitable
for children 5 year and over.
-
Open water swim
events.
-
Surf Life
Saving-
We encourage our swimmers to join their local surf club. We hope
in by doing so they will get more out of swimming, lengthen
their careers and become productive volunteers themselves.
Bayside regularly attends swim carnivals throughout the year at
various locations in Sydney. We also tour quite regularly; to
date we have attended carnivals in Canberra, and Brisbane.
Bayside usually has between 20 and 40 swimmers compete. When
attending swim carnivals members are expected to wear full
uniform, sit with the team and support their mates.
- January 2010:
we trained with and hosted the Canadian Age Touring Team.
This was a great learning experience for both teams both in and
out of the pool.
- January 2010:
we travelled to Wollongong for a joint training camp with Wests
Illawarra Aquatic Swimming Club
- July 2009: we
travelled to Queensland for a training camp.
